Astronomy Coloring and Activity Book For Kids (Rockridge, 2022).
Space is the place to be. I learned so much about astronomy writing my book about Neil. In this new book, get ready to learn about outer space and our place in the universe! Have fun at the same time with word searches, a maze on Mars, and connecting the stars of constellations. Make sure you have crayons or colored pencils nearby! From the top of Kitt Peak in Arizona, where I saw the Galilean moons of Jupiter, to the plains of Wyoming, where I witnessed the total solar eclipse, I became fascinated with space. Recently, I attended a NASA launch of the Lucy mission to the Trojan asteroids of Jupiter, combining my evolution and astronomy loves. Watch this space for a future book!

Explore the Cosmos Like Neil deGrasse Tyson--A Space Science Journey (Prometheus, 2015)
I was fortunate to meet and interview Neil in his office at the American Museum of Natural History in NYC.
In this unique book about space science, I combine up-to-date information about the universe and the science of astrophysics with a biographical portrait of Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, the popular astrophysicist, science communicator, and host of Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey. I include awesome images from the Hubble Space Telescope and quotes from Tyson himself. This story of one man's successful career in and lifelong love of space science may inspire you to follow a similar path. As Tyson makes clear, there is still much to do for future space scientists, diverting asteroids, unraveling the mystery of dark matter, finding life elsewhere in the universe, and more!
My Books
The Lucy Man: The Scientist Who Discovered the Most Famous Fossil Ever! (Prometheus, 2011).
In 1974, Dr. Donald Johanson found a 3.2 million year old fossilized skeleton of one of our human ancestors. She is called Lucy, Dinkinesh, and Australopithecus afarensis.
Dr. Johanson knew that Lucy walked upright and was important in figuring out how we became human. Lucy made him famous and changed his life, but Don and Lucy changed the science of paleoanthropology, the study of human evolution. Read the tale of how Don found Lucy, go on a dig with scientists in the African desert, and learn about how we became human. At the same time, catch Don's enthusiasm for science as you read about his life, including his dedication to his career, the risks he took to become a successful scientist, and his passion to share science with the general public.
