Science Travel
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful trip to find wild chimpanzees in Gombe Tanzania. Here we are on the shore of Lake Tanganyika with the inimitable Jane Goodall. On this same amazing trip, Pete and I hiked up Mt. Karisimbi in Rwanda in search of mountain gorillas. After hours of bamboo forest, ankle-grabbing vines, and stinging nettles, we made it to the silverback, Muturengere and his family.
The NASA Lucy mission launch was the event that combined my love of evolution and astronomy. Here I am with Don Johanson and Dr. Hal Levison, the scientist in charge of the mission and one of the reviewers of my new book.
Here I am with Birute Galdikas in Borneo and with some of her orangutans that have been rescued and rehabilitated back to the wild.
Below that is Dr. Ian Tattersall. We have traveled to Magagascar with him and will again this fall to see incredible lemurs. Of all the primates we have traveled the world for, lemurs are my favorite.
